  • Moving on My T is sold

    I have traded my T for a 1967 172H on floats. The 172 has a 160hp, 85" Borer
prop and 2250 EDO . This aircraft performs like no other 172 because of the Borer prop and special floats. The aircraft is in the owner maintenance category and this is why the Borer prop and this type of float could be installed.

Anyway, I guess I will not be around quite so much or at least until I sell some of the Tcraft parts I have .

Not saying farewell just yet but, I think that is around the corner.

Robert, you have been a stalwart of this forum and the email list before for too many years (I'm sad to say!). I'm happy for you that you have found a new flying life; I wish you happiness with your new mount.

I hope that you keep in touch with us, if only occasionally; you have much to offer.

    Your friend,

    Rob

Say it ain't so Robert! Gone over to the SPAM Container side?
You know you can ease into the "dark" don't you? Ernie Bryant bought a Cessna and painted it like a Taylorcraft. Kind of the "Baby Huey" of the local clan, but actually kind of pretty. It IS nice to be able to carry several coolers full of beer for the rest of us.
You will always be welcome and just remember that Ernie always said he was sorry for selling his Taylorcraft. When you get tired of all the tinny noise you can always buy another REAL airplane. We will welcome you back.
      Hank

In the time while we wait fro you to come to your senses, you should keep posting. Just because you fly a Cessna doesn't mean we don't still count you as a friend! Besides, all the goofy things we get into here have to at least have entertainment value.

Yes spam can, I forgot I used that endearment as well
I think I may, like a bad habit, have to stay around tho
I may be boasting about my new.....ahem....spam can.
This is a spam can on steroids, not like the certified kin.
This baby has special floats and prop and.... I have yet
to install the juicy stol stuff available or a crossfow exhaust that can make another 20 ponies.

Wonder if I would be allowed to attend the next Tcraft
          flyin in my spam can?

I may have a few good ribs, I know I have alot of damaged ones. I have a VG kit that I didn't install as
well as a ventral fin that I didn't use. I will do an inventory in a week or two and then post . I think I
may also have a couple of spars too, I'm not 100%.

                    Good luck with the 172!

I may be interested in your VG kit for the T Craft I recently purchased.

How much would you want for it?

I think I paid $400 for it but it is not a "certified" kit as
                      far as I know.

Good luck with the cessna. I sold my first T-craft and spent the next 4 years kicking myself for it. I finally found another one and might be interested in the VG's and the list of other parts you may have left.

I'll try to get a list of the parts this week and post. The parts are in the Hanger at the lake which is snowed in. Not very much snow I might add,I can almost drive in there now. Normally there would be several feet of snow if not more. Should be good for early break up and thus early float flying

I know a few snowmobilers that would gladly take that snow off your hands

They can still snowmobile, they just have to take their machines to higher country instead of leaving from home. Doesn't bother me that I have used
                              my snowthrower once this year
