  • AK Winter Ski Fly-In

Attention Alaska Tribe! For those of you that are 'ski equipped' we are having a little fly-in gathering at Vogel Lake Cabin on Saturday, March 13 and Sunday, March 14. Vogel Lake is an easy 30 minute flight from Anchorage, and an hour or less from most anywhere on the Kenai Penninsula. The lake has trout if you want to try ice fishing. There is a very nice Forest Service cabin on the lake and it is the only cabin on the lake. The cabin sleeps up to 6 people so let me know if you are planning to stay overnight. (Of course, anyone is welcome to drop in for the day if you don't want to camp out.) It should be a fun, relaxing weekend with warmer March temperatures and longer daylight hours. Mark your calendars and let's have a good turn out for a fun winter fly-in. If you don't have skis and would like to join us drop me a line and I'll find you a ride.

Hope to see you in March!

I saw your airplane last weekend when I was puttin the skis on the other yellow tcraft down the way, the one parked next to the stinson on floats. I wish I could mine up on skis this year but I dont have the money to fly her yet. Maybe soon if I find work in Anchorage. I still need to go up and get her from delta. Tim

astjp2...I hope you find that job in ANC soon! It would be great to have your plane down here with you where it belongs. I don't know what type of work as an A&P you are looking for, but my A&P at 'Northern Aviation' on the east side of Lake Hood is hiring. Stop in and talk to David Mathew.

Perry...leave now, just in case you run into weather over Western Canada! Peter...don't forget about thos cheese curds! I like them extra squeeky.

Oh yes, Darwin's....... Good times, good times.
We had such a great time, and are always trying to get back up and see everyone in Alaska, but alas, work always seems to get in the way.

Never mind I figured out. Jim I was going to order some and have them shipped to your office, but they only ship UPS!! I don't think that would go over to well.

Oh, that hurts me Peter. Just buy the curds nice and fresh at a dairy when you fetch your floats in Wisconsin and then FEDEX them to me! By the way...any Alaska T-Craft flyers reading this, don't forget about the Vogel Lake winter fly-in...the ORIGINAL subject of this thread (not cheese curds)! Peter...hop in the plane with Perry and c'mon up. You two can split the fuel costs and call your wives from Alaska to surprise them!

Bob Picard...hope to see you there. Ward...grab the wife and c'mon out too. (Otherwise we'll see you two in Skwentna the 2nd Saturday in May.) Dick Smith...we would like to see you there also! (Plus, we can use your place as an alternate if there is weather in Anchorage on the way home.) Larry...c'mon down and take a break from the shop.
