Wing to fuselage fairing

The light aluminum fairings (wedge looking jobs) that install between the wing and fuselage have a bent metal tab with a hole drilled in it (for a sheet metal screw I think)

Does the tab go on the top of the wing or the bottom?

My F-19 has no screw in use that uses the tab, so I can't use the process of elimination to figure it out.

Er...a straight tab goes on top.

perhaps he means the two bent tabs that screw into the fabric between the top & bottom.

Some one pitched the metal wing root fairing on my plane and glued some fabric between the fuse and wing root. I am unable to check the spar attach bolts unless I cut the fabric off. It feels like the small fairing that is attached to the fuse is still under the fabric. If some one ever gets around to taking a picture of the wing root area with out the fairing on and some detailed shots of the fairing I should be able to make one from scratch. OR does anyone has a pattern I could use.

The metal fairing on my BC12D at the rear of the wing and fuselage area has small nail holes in the tab for nails into the wood on the longerons. Then the metal strip that circles the wing opening covers the rear edge to hold it in place. Hope this helps.
