  • Engine Mount-Information

I am converting a BL-65 to a BC-65. In looking for an engine mount I find that they have two types. The short and long mounts. My aircraft is a 1940
BL-65. I need to know which mount to order. Thanks Rex

Rex The long one is used on the later models with the higher gross weights. Unless your plane has been modified, you probably need the short mount.

Rex, as already mentioned, it would be a short mount for the A-65 without a starter. Also, you are not really converting the BL to a BC, your aircraft will still be registered as a BL. Only the aircraft manufacturer can change the airframe registration. You are simply installing a Continental engine.

If you use the long mount, the cowling will be different than the short mount. You will need new baffling, I used a C-150 as a starting point since I could not come up with the stamped one and trimmed to fit. If you have any questions, give a shout. Tim
