  • Turn Buckle

Can anyone give me the correct turnbuckle part for my right brake pedel adjustment. There is play on the toe brake and I can't tighten the turnbuckle up anymore. It looks to me that the left and right tuenbuckle are different.

      Re: Turn Buckle

I doubt it was original equipment to have toe brakes (and turnbuckles) in a '46 BC12D, Sal, so you may have to work with your IA/A&P to resolve.

toe brakes not original too your plane, was not an option until F-21, maybe F-19. Even those had no turnbuckle as are hydraulic.

BC12-D does not have a turn buckle either originally. Had a cable clamp and you just pulled tight and retighten bolts.

Pic of your issue would be nice

            Re: Turn Buckle

There should still be no turnbuckle, Sal. Someone modified your ship at some point.

Limited experience on my part, but I found those clamps to be a PITA.
What would be the effort (paperwork) to add turnbuckles? 337? - Mike

                  Re: Turn Buckle

turnbuckle not necessary, the adjustments as original work fine. Do you ahve the "bug" adjustement right at the HEEL brake... the cable just pulls through and then two bolts tighten it in place.
