Bob if you have a motion Industries store near you and have a old seal or have the correct measurements they will get you one if they don't already have it in stock. The same with bearings of all kinds. Marv
Measure the outer diameter of the place the seal is in and the depth of it.
Inner diameter of the seal is the shaft size. CR should make one and be sold at your local bearing place. Note there is singel lip and dubble lip seals, singel lip is most common,it keeps the dirt out but not the grease in dubble lip will do both, what is normaly used on the plane I dont know.
The seals are commonly the same OD as the bearing but not all the time!

I’m not familiar with the term “staked” as it pertains to bearing races. My guess is that a hammer and punch is used on the hub around the race which causes the hub material to deform holding the race in place. Is this correct?
If the hub is deformed to hold the race, what is the procedure to remove a staked race? I’ve read the descriptions about heating and cooling to get a race to fall out, but if staking is what I think it is, it would seem that you would have to pound the hub back somehow.

Pressing the race back out may work as it may "reform" the I.D. Another plan may be to attempt to remove the bump caused by staking with a small sanding drum on a dremel tool or similar tool.
Be care don't remove too much.
Don't stake if you have a loose race, instead get a sleeve lock compound suitable for filling large gaps. That has worked well for me and cost about $10-$15 for a small bottle that will last a lifetime.
So my father mailed my wheels out here, but he said one of my bearings was missing. I guess it got lost somewhere between removal and storage. Is there anywhere I can find one? Or does any one have an extra? Also will I need a seal? I'm hoping to change it over to wheels before I head out for a road trip that my wife and I are going on. I was hoping to also fly it into Anchorage, but may have to by a ticket cause the wx is supposed to be for a while.
I purchase the main wheel inner and outer cups and cones alone with tail wheel bearings from my local commercial bearing supplier (Bearings Inc, Indanapolis, IN or Motion Industries, Indianapolis). They are standard Timkin bearings.
