  • Main tank removal

Once again I come to the trough of Tcraft knowledge. I am trying to remove the main tank in my BC12D. The problem is, one of the diagonal tank mounting rods, it looks like it exits either through the firewall or the panel. The one on the left is lower and came out just below the lower cross tube on the panel. The one exiting on the right looks like I need to make a hole in the panel to pull it back. Is there a trick to this or do I have to make a hole in my nice panel just below the right control wheel shaft? None of this would have happened if I had not sloshed my tank many years ago and then left auto fuel in it. Live and learn.

You have to pull the panel to remove the one rod and drop the column to get the tank out. Pain in the ***

I find it's quicker the more often you do it - long story!

Search is your friend. Try this thread, as an example.

I got it out. There was a hole in the panel just to the lower left of the right control shaft and I cut a small X in the naugahyde that I had covered the panel with and by warping the rod up I got it out. I would guess I have all of 6 hours or more of bending and contortions into it this far. Now to see if I can properly clean it or buy a new one and then to reverse the process. This is not fun. Thanks for all the help so far.
