OK, not a TCraft, but some of you must have a similar place to try this...

Why isn't whole or more of the aircraft shown? (easy to do seeing as they have gone to the trouble they have.) Notice how approximate prop hub stays above the horizon for a LONG time. Try it next time you land that far away and see if you glide to the runway, in that attitude with no power. Your in the trees pal! JC

More of a noise when it goes over on its nose. O.T.

Yeah, but after all that practice if his engine quits over rough terrain he likely will not even bend it.

The video is certainly real but my question is.....why??? I'm all for fun in the sun, playing on sand bars and back country flying.....however I was always taught to use all the availible runway at your disposal weather it be 1000 feet or ten feet. I don't think I would want to try a dead stick takeoff from a mountain side in case it was a life or death situation. There's a lot of times doing back country flying when you need the prop blast to push the tail back down when you hit a rock or rut, if he would have hit that same rock that he rolled off the hill it could have easily put him on his top and then him and airplane both would have tumbled god only knows how far down the mountain before they stopped. I really don't have any problem doing a dead stick takeoff....as long as it's in a glider being towed by a prefectly running tow plane.LOL

Kevin some people don't need a reason they just like a challange and it don't have to make since. Esspecialy when you are young. Marv

I know that feeling,I'm only 34 and have done some stupid stuff that I look back on and wonder why....but I probably wouldn't change them if I could.
