I sent out a pair of old shoes to Skybound in August to have them remade. They sent them back and 2 weeks ago I tried them. Even with the adjusters cranked all the way, with full brake pedal throw they did nothing.
I called Skybound and they said send them back with the inner wheel halves and they will custom make shoes to fit. So, off they went back to Skybound.
Got them in last week and now I'm REALLY baffled. All the shoes are different sizes. One of them is as much as 3/8" longer than the other 3??!!! When I use that really long one I can't even get the wheel on.
Another one has a crack completely through one of the steel clips on the end where the rivet goes through. And yet another had a rivet squeezed very poorly. You can see 1/16" air gap between the steel clip and the shoe and the rivet is at a nasty angle to both pieces. The rivet heads are squeezed off to the sides and I am just not happy at all with what I have.
Tried to call Skybound but they are closed for the weekend.
So.... I either send these back AGAIN and hope they get it right or find shoes elsewhere.
What to do???
