I am looking for pictures of Taylorcraft paint schemes to see what the original schemes were like. I did not see anything under history. Is there a good place to go to find original and or the best looking planes.
What year and model Taylorcraft do you have? Might as well start out with what it looked like from the factory. You might get lucky and really like the original layout. I did, TWICE!

The one I own is a 46, I have the certificate right from the factory. I have to repaint that one because someone did not do the fabric right in 83. I am staying with paint that I was able to save mostly the wings and cowling. I will get some pics tomorrow.
The project that I am working on is a 47 I think, I own that together with someone else. He owns the fuselage and I am putting my C-85 on it and I am doing all the work.
My book arrived on Friday and I read it cover to cover without putting it down very interestinf stuff. All in B/W though. I am trying to date my plane now. as in 46 they started to cut back a lot of things. I have the "Trunk Latches" But I also have wheel pants, and a left hand door. I have strutt cuffs, headliner, nav lights, hub caps. No radio though, I do have two wing tanks. Other than the radio it could be a deluxe.
The color layout in the attached picture a couple of posts back was the one used on the "Deluxe" in late 45 and sometime into 46 (with the paint all the way to the tail of course). You already have the basis for an original layout (and the one I am putting on my 45 which was origianly Taylorcraft Ivory and Nieuport Blue. A REALLY pretty combination!
