        Craig,

Thanks a million. We test fly N82092 as soon as we add weight to the tail for a proper CG.

AQny time you come through Charleston you MUST call and stop by. No exceptions.

        Grateful Tom

You need weight in the tail? That's a new one for me (a first since the Taylorcraft Brick discussions several years ago). Are you sure there wasn't an error in the weighing? (you DID actually weigh the plane, right? NEVER trust the W&B in the logs!)
Please provide more Wt and Balance info for those of us who get off on this stuff. What was the weight on each wheel and was the plane level when weighed?
We aren't doubting your "Due Diligence", it's just so unusual to have a nose heavy Taylorcraft bad enough that it actually needs tail weight.

You didn't happen to re-engine with a 450 P&W did you? That would get a few of us excited (look at the Rotec radial pictures. A "T" is BEAUTIFUL with a round engine!)

Off topic; but your comment brings back memories of a Cessna 195 that was re engined with a 450 P&W and clipped wings that we used to haul jumpers in Florida many years ago. She required 75 pound in the tail to get the CG. However, she would climb like the proverbial home sick angel We also had a unemployed crop duster that came down in the winter to fly it. With him at the controls you were always guaranteed an interesting ride! I wonder if she is still flying, I will have to look up the N number and see.

Time passes but projects don't! Do you still have any of those tail wire jam nuts available (8)? Would sure apreciate it. If not please share info on where they were available. Also, do you have any source for the AN940-416 washers? Thanks, Melinda
