I just got my two bags of nuts too (Larry will have fun with that one). Thanks a million!
Hank
Hey, I have two sets of nuts because I have two Taylorcrafts! They look like solid steel too. ;-)
I recently purchased a 1946 BC12d that was in license. Once I got it home I noticed that none of the tail flying wires had jam nuts on them. Due to the high vibration these are special nuts 8/36. After an extensive search I found the part number at an aviation supply house in California. I only needed 8 nuts but had to order 100 to meet the minimum order quanity. The part number is AN345-8. If any members on the chat line are in need of these special jam nuts send me a note with your address and I will send a set of 8 at no charge.
Craig,
I had to do the same thing. I don't remember if I had to buy that many but I do know that I have a s**t-load of them somewhere in the hangar. If you run out of them let me know. I believe I got them on the internet from Genuine Aircraft Hardware Co.
Craig, I just talked to my A&P. He told me that we also need 8 jam nuts for N82092. This is one of the aircraft that Harry Ingram took apart and stole parts off of. It is close to end on a four year rebuild. Wings go on Sunday afternoon. WE are getting very excited. If you have any more we sure could use them.
Thanks a LOT.......

Tom,
It's good to see that you are getting close to finally getting your plane back flying again. The F19 I am working on-- another one that Harry had taken apart and ended up with a lot of missing and damaged parts is not too far behind. I just put the engine back on. Craig sent some jam nuts for it and with all the problems rounding up all those parts we REALLY appreciated it. When you have it finished please send some pictures --and I will do the same--after all the problems this F19 is finally starting to come together --cant wait to give it back to it's owner and see pictures of it back in Alaska.

Tom,
I don't have an extra but I sent you a PM for someone that might if no one here does. Sounds like you are getting close to flying that Taylorcraft again--Bet it's going to be REALLY nice airplane-and getting to be close to the best time of year to enjoy flying it---

Craig: I, too, need the jam nuts when you get another box in house. certainly appreciate your research and willingness to help the gang out. I'll chip in postage and such if you'll include a return address. Thanks!
