I recently purchased a 1946 BC12d that was in license. Once I got it home I noticed that none of the tail flying wires had jam nuts on them. Due to the high vibration these are special nuts 8/36. After an extensive search I found the part number at an aviation supply house in California. I only needed 8 nuts but had to order 100 to meet the minimum order quanity. The part number is AN345-8. If any members on the chat line are in need of these special jam nuts send me a note with your address and I will send a set of 8 at no charge.

Re: Free tail wire jam nuts
Craig,
Nice of you to offer these. I would appreciate a set also, but I'll make it easy on you and stop in to pick them up sometime when you're around. I'm very close. Save me a set please and let me know what works best for you. Fly or drive in, either works for me!Mike

Re: Free tail wire jam nuts
Well by my count that makes me 72 to 80. Hank is right; is the foundation missing something here? Of course FREE helps but for a nominal fee I would still sign up. As a matter of fact I will sign up but but only if you post a nominal fee for shipping. I have no idea if I will really need them but, who cares, in a few years when I find out I do, I will be damned glad I have them. That is part of the fun of restoring one of these old birds, and part of the enjoyment of getting to know the Tribe! Larry
PS+ I will PM you Graig with my addy."I'm from the FAA and we're not happy, until your not happy."

Re: Free tail wire jam nuts
I had an overwhelming response to my offer for free tail wire jam nuts. I have started to send out the jam nuts but at this point the requests are in excess of my supply. For those of you who have requested a set of jam nuts and I didn't get a set out to you I plan on ordering some additional hardware in the very near future and will order some more nuts so I can satisfy every one's request.
