Hello to everyone. My name is Mike and I live in Oklahoma City, OK. My father passed away in Feb. in Oklahoma City. His name was George. Some of you from the Dallas-Ft.Worth area may know him from the Denton fly-ins and also the old Pauls Valley, OK. fly-ins.He owned the same 1946 BC-12D for 49.5 years. It has a 65 hrsp Continental engine. The last time he flew it was in May of 2000, but he started it up regularly until he passed away. Unfortuneately neither my brother nor I learned to fly so now I am here trying to find out a little information or possibly find a prospective buyer. It needs recovering and the struts A.D. have not been complied with. It has the original wheel pants which are in very good condition. From what I have been able to gather up in the log books the engine has 965 hrs total time. I did not see anywhere where the engine has had any type of overhaul, and the airframe has 1800 hrs on it. My mother, brother and I would like to try and keep it in this general area but if we cant, thats ok. I would love to see her restored and flying again....If any of you Taylorcraft lovers are interested or know someone who may be interested in getting her flying again please contact me either by responding to this post or instant messaging me. We are open to any and all offers. I have enclosed a couple of pictures. Sorry they are not the best but I can get more if you would like. Thank you very much for your time and I look forward to talking with you................Mike

Mike,
Can you email me some photos?

I will have to give it some thought.

Re: Needing to sell my fathers 1946 BC-12D
Hey Chet, I remember you well. My father spoke of you quite often as a matter of fact. He always talked about the beautiful airplanes you restored. I believe I met you a couple of times way back when. Thanks for your kind words. My father passed very suddenly on Feb.8th of a ruptured aortic aneurism. He had been feeling good and showed no signs that anything was wrong in the weeks and months leading up to his death. Still pretty much in shock over the whole thing.
Unfortuneately we are looking to sell the ol t/craft because no one else in the family flies. I would definately like some advise on where to turn next and would like very much to speak with you. Thanks for offering to speak with me. I look forward to it........Mike

Re: Needing to sell my fathers 1946 BC-12D
Hello Mike: It is a sad thing to lose your father so quickly. My father died of the same affliction. Please accept my condolences. I am in Bulverde, TX (San Antonio) and finishing up a Feb/46 BC12-D (SN 6965) total restoration. I would like to discuss your Dad's ship with you. Please contact me at [email protected] at your leisure. If possible, I can fly up to OK to meet with you. Thanks. DocDoc TF #680
