One of the nice things about flying small, quiet, slow-flying aeroplanes is that you can invite yourself to private strips only a stone throw from a suitable luncheon spot.
So happened today at a moment's notice, when Jonathan and Jono Jnr and I decided to meet up at a little strip in Oxfordshire, about half-way between our home bases.
Above: Jonathan landed before me, so I saw he was parked up when I joined low-level overhead. Small, tight circuits are of the order; it keeps the neighbourly noise footprint down.
Above: A lazy 400 yard walk saw us enjoying Pub food in the friendly local village. Toby wants to know when Daddy will buy him a Taylorcraft for his birthday present.
Above two photos: The obligatory ground shots before departure...
Above: ...and note the strip is only just as wide as the wingspan.
Such simple pleasures for we aviators. We owe our thanks to Frank for the use of his strip.
