Congratulations DJ! Classy looking machine! I have the sissor windows and they are very much appreciated... even in this country. LOL!

The Taylorcraft is an honest flying machine and can be a test of pilot skills. I think that I may always have mine although that decision is based on my financial situation today.

I think the Taylorcraft is a good investment in the long run. It may take several years to realize it though. In the five years I have owned mine the greatest expense I have is for the new lift struts and they should last decades. I know that the government and large corporations can put a price on safety but I can not...!

It sure looks like you have a gem now...Enjoy!

DJ That is a beautiful plane! As I am just getting in to my rebuild, and have been watching your saga with a fair amount of trepidation, it is an inspiration too see her back in the air. However, she looks like the effort is worth every moment (penny/dollar?) of it. I know as you pay off this baby you will have some trepidation, but to those of us still struggling she is pure inspiration.

Mine is still coming out of its annual -- hopefully in a week or so.

Nice job DJ,
We just finished an annual of N96175 here in North Florida and took her out for the first flight. It has taken several weeks to run down all the little squawks like you went thru with your baby. I can attest that she flies like a Cadillac - smooth, responsive, quiet are a few of the terms that come to mind first. What a pleasure to fly!!! Enjoy that nice looking T-craft and keep the posts coming.

I'm off to the airport now to go fly it. Going to give it one hell of a preflight though seeing as how all the interior, controls, struts, were removed.

I'll be back later today and post a pic or two from the air.

can't fly tomorrow 30NM TFR around the Super Bowl just catches our airport in Mesa. Arrghhh!

flew today for 1.4 hours. And wouldn't ya know it... I was so involved in having a great time flying that I forgot I put my camera in the back and never took any pics.

Flies great. I was a wee bit nervous for the first flight since the annual. Seeing as how all the controls were removed, but no problems!

Its good that you enjoyed your flight! Now we just have to get you up the trench up to alaska, now that is a flight to behold. 400 miles without fuel but one hell of a ride! Its -10 in faribanks for the Hi today, supposed to be much colder tomarrow. Tim
