I have been trying to find a practical way to upgrade an F19 to hyd. brakes -STC would be best. If we can find enough interest prehaps we can convince Univair/Wag Aero/ Alaska Airframes to come up with one. I think it would be possible to make a kit for the strait axle and a conversion kit to the tapered axles so one kit would could be used for both. Donno but seems possible to me.Buell Powell TF#476

Re: STC # SA4797NM how do I get it ?
the FAA registry lists the seattle FAA office number, you can contact them for more info. If you are not able to get ahold of the holder, request the info under the freedom of information act...just a thought. TimN29787

Master Stormman,
I talked to Mr. Bigby a couple of years ago about his STC and he said it was a 1 shot STC and couldn't be used on other aircraft beyond the one he did. However, it may leave open the ability to use your aircraft & experience over the last 20+ years and ?? hours with the modification as a basis for a field approval. Any chance of getting pictures and/or a sketch of your setup?
Thanks,

Years ago, I talked to one of the relatives of the STC holder, via phone, and was informed that the holder was deceased. DickLast edited by Dick Smith; 12-13-2007, 11:28.Dick Smith N5207M TF#159

Dick thanks for the input , sounds like a field approval going to run it by my AI ,others have done this , so im going to have to work around this issue ,no big deal ,another brick in the wall !!! to bad that these old stc,s die away shur would be nice if they lived on as long as the old planes lived on Thanks for your input , I thank everyone HARPO !!!!

Re: STC # SA4797NM how do I get it ?
My plane had the Cessna rudder pedals and brakes put on years ago before I bought it, it was on a field approval one time only. It is getting some work done right now but when I go down to check on things in a couple of weeks I could take some pics if that would help. My gut feel is the disc brakes can put you on your nose if you don't watch out and get a little heavy on them.
