The last time I priced the Cleveland brakes from Aviall, they totaled about $3,000.00 for everything. Tim

No STC, try to get your IA to do a field approval first. I can send you some pics of an installation that I know of. Send me your email if you want them. Tim

                Harpo,
I have been trying to find a practical way to upgrade an F19 to hyd. brakes -STC would be best. If we can find enough interest prehaps we can convince Univair/Wag Aero/ Alaska Airframes to come up with one. I think it would be possible to make a kit for the strait axle and a conversion kit to the tapered axles so one kit would could be used for both. Donno but seems possible to me.

the FAA registry lists the seattle FAA office number, you can contact them for more info. If you are not able to get ahold of the holder, request the info under the freedom of information act...just a thought. Tim

Harpo, following are several forum entries from the past on this topic. I searched the word "hydraulic" using the search feature.

                          Master Stormman,
I talked to Mr. Bigby a couple of years ago about his STC and he said it was a 1 shot STC and couldn't be used on other aircraft beyond the one he did. However, it may leave open the ability to use your aircraft & experience over the last 20+ years and ?? hours with the modification as a basis for a field approval. Any chance of getting pictures and/or a sketch of your setup?

                          Thanks,
                          JD Lawson

Years ago, I talked to one of the relatives of the STC holder, via phone, and was informed that the holder was deceased. Dick

My plane had the Cessna rudder pedals and brakes put on years ago before I bought it, it was on a field approval one time only. It is getting some work done right now but when I go down to check on things in a couple of weeks I could take some pics if that would help. My gut feel is the disc brakes can put you on your nose if you don't watch out and get a little heavy on them.
