  • BALL BEARING pulleys BB228 and BB229

After months of work with FAA and vendor delays, the NEW, FAA-PMA ball bearing pulleys for Taylorcraft in the 3.00" and 1.75" sizes are finally ready for shipment on November 11, 2007.

Those wishing some of these parts can obtain them by contacting Classic Aero at 480-650-0883 and providing credit card information or checks for the parts. Pulleys are about $23 each: joy:

Those who placed advance orders for these are thanked for their patience and should contact Doug or Donna with their payment details ASAP.

We do also still stock lining kits that fit the Shinn-Firestone brakes.

great to see another source for these parts! I'd buy several except my airplane budget is a bit thin right now, what with my recent splurge on luxury items like gas and food.

These same pulleys are $22 and $25 from the "factory". Just in the spirit of competition...how about a little price break?

I got mine from the boys in Jersey, it is worth the money, if you dont replace much else, the pulleys are the best 400.00 that I spent. @ $25.00 ea

As a businessman, I always ask for a discount. You never know until you ask.

However, in this case, I would say the price charged from the new supplier is fair if you consider that money sent Harry's way may not bring any "hard" return.

After all the talk from many others who say that we should support the factory, my two cents is that we should support ANYONE who sells approved materials other than the factory. Let's encourage them by sending some business even if they are a few sheckles higher. Money well worth spent, I say.

          And I've said enough...

I think I'm misinterpreting something one of you said here (not sure which one or which statement, it just isn't connecting). Why is it short sighted to support anyone who will make parts for our planes? (Even if it IS the factory and they charge more than we think is fair.....IF they are the only ones willing to make them). I will buy for ANYONE making what I need, and try to encourage competition to get the price down. That said I will also pay a little extra to someone who has shown good past performance, provides better or faster service, I TRUST, or I just want to make sure succeeds to keep competition alive, even if I DO pay more (that last one is the only one Harry still has going for him, I WANT the factory to make it, but I don't trust him enough any more to send him money).
That's why I buy produce from the small farmers market down the street even though he charges a lot more. The convenience, friendship, service and quality make it a better total deal than the supermarket, even at higher cost.

I’m not being sarcastic or trying to start a flame session, I just feel like I missed something.

I am waiting to get mine from the factory. Harry said, "Two weeks".

                  Tom Garrick,

Two years ago, the factory (several people there, not just Harry) gave me the excuse that it would be two weeks. I got that excuse for three months. Can you guess how often?

I had four of the large diameter and six of the small diameter pulleys on order.

I finally received two of the small diameters. So I called and they said that they found these two in the shop and sent them and will be sending the rest, "...in two weeks..."!!!!

Being "damn short-sighted", I never called back and never received any more pulleys.

                  Good Luck.

Sorry, I was making a joke. Harry did not get the nickname "Two weeks Harry" for nothing.
