I got them a month or more ago and finished the installation about 14 days ago.
I had to modify one jury strut clamp because the stream line tubing is different on front strut.
My old struts had repairs on them so I lost 7 lbs empty weight, about $400 per pound!
After changing the struts I can tell you there is no way I would do that every two years. I guess there is a chance for an AMOC that allows on plane testing. I probably wouldn't even do that.
I don't know yet my old struts pass the test.
I think my plane's value is higher and I will get my old struts tested and sell if good.
My old front struts were not the same length (independent of and prior to the repairs) when I contacted the factory many years ago about that they said it was within the tolerance. The new struts must be the same length because I can no longer see the slight difference in wing tip height that I could see with old struts. But I cruise about 4-6 mpgh faster so something has changed with respect to angle of incidence probably due to the front strut length is my guess. Maybe it was just to re-rigging? Dunno but I like it!
