  • New (to me) 1939 BC-65

Spent the weekend floating home in a BC-65. 750 miles in about 8 hours flying. Forgot what flying was really all about. To much kerosene and avionics. Well not anymore...She is a 1939 BC-65 that started life a BL-65. It has been living in and around Kansas and Arkansa for the last 68 years. Great restoration and lots of documentation.

Very nice! That black paint job sure highlights the beautiful lines of the T-craft. Howard

Congratulations. She's a beauty! I've seen it at Oshkosh a few times and always liked the interior colors and details. Goes great with the black exterior.

Great airplane, your Taylorcraft will always get attention at the $100 dollar hamburger lunches.

Tim, here's a pic of 20442's panel. Slightly different than original, (mag switch and small 'overlay' panel near throttle?). If you have Chet Peek's book there is a good panel pic there.Hope this pic post works. Howard

                      Michael,
Looks like a lot of time went into her. More that you can understand unless you done it. I restored a 1941 Chief in the 80's but now have a 46 BC12D that is undergoing a very intensive annual. Come by Hilliard Airpark 01J and visit us. Guys hang around Thursdays and Saturdays. Not as fancy as St Augustine but we do have biplanes and homebuilts too.
