Ok, I tried the search function first. I have a buddy that is in need of a new panel. Someone at some time had made some. Who was it and do they have any left?

Re: Panel Blanks
I made two good ones (and a terrible first one that was fun to wad up in a ball) by hand on a MDH buck. I'll never do one again. If someone wants the buck they can have it to make one themselves. The buck is for a PRE WAR with the instrument insert used in 1941.
If you don't have a severe masochistic streak someone was stamping the post war ones and I bought one for my 1945. It is a beautiful part and if there are any more around and you need a post war that is the way to go. It is WAY too much work to make one by hand unless there is no alternative.

Re: Panel Blanks
Hank,
Can you post a pic of that buck? Can it be sent UPS? Do you know how the 1941 insert compares with the 1938? When you say insert are you talking throttle cluster? I need to make a new panel for my 1938 B.MIKE CUSHWAY

Re: Panel Blanks
I do not the proper instrument layout but I do have a 41 that is very close to original, I believe. I will have the panel out in a couple of weeks so could do a tracing if needed. I have pics I can send if you want but do not how to post them here. Maybe I can add them in the gallery. Larry"I'm from the FAA and we're not happy, until your not happy."

Re: Panel Blanks
I will go out to the barn (yes, there are still old planes hiding in barns) and get the buck for some pictures along with some of the panel I made. The buck is HEAVY so we may need to look for a cheap way to transport it. Where are you? Maybe it could be a nice flight to meet mid way somewhere. I am in Virginia Beach VA (South east corner of the state on the Chesapeake Bay).

Re: Panel Blanks
Hey Larry! You by any chance an old Crusader driver?!?!!?
Hank
Nope, plane captain for the Skipper of VF 661, 1967 & 68. The skipper was CEO of Standard Oil of New Jersey. Can't remember his name right now. He flew in WW2, the Korean war and was recalled to active duty when the North Koreans seized the Pueblo Yes, I too am still a fan of that bird, she could take licken and still get you home. Got to see one dog fight, right over head, at 15,000' to 35,000'. We laid down on the deck and by shielding our eyes, we could just make out little silver slivers shoot up and down but you could hear every time they kicked in the AB.
