I just heard frrom my mechanic that my mags are shot, anyone know a source that is at least less expensive? This annual is getting very expensive!

Are you looking for new mags? That pretty much limits you to Slicks.....they're in every major aviation catalog, sometimes with specials. They would probably run about $1200-1300.

If you're looking to rebuild I would suggest Savage Magneto, but that will run about $1000, assuming you have the old stock mags. If you do a search on this site, you'll find a nember of discussions on this subject including the relative merits of both options.

Hi Steve, Wag-Aero has slicks, heres a good supplier to do business with, I ordered a mag and other parts, good service, good prices.

They have new Slick mags, and rebuilt Bendix mags, if you presently have bendix then that maybe the way to go, if your harness is in good condition, otherwise Slick generally has rebates or incentives to convert to their products.

Go for Slick mags...impulse couplings on both mags for easy starting They come with new plugs.. but you will have to put clearance bumps on the cowling.. Wag Aero has all...You should do your own annual and get the IA to sign you off...save a few bucks

I despise Slick just because of there core program. I would rebuild the old SF4's before I put slicks on.

I have 1 SF4 mag that works, I would get it looked at by Al at Savage magneto before I flew behind it. I would make you a good deal on it. IM me and let me know. Tim
