Rick Farley's Red BC12-85 is painted red and white and came from South Louisiana, so naturally it sports a "T-Basco" logo on the tail - left there from the previous owners. Even though Rick is a UT Longhorn and the plane is in Texas, somehow he just won't name it T-bone.

I used to work for LINK, and called my plane the "Flight Simulator" but my wife (also a pilot) would not have any of that.....

Mine is named "MANU SINA", which is Samoan for Friggate bird. I used to watch the friggate birds play in the ridgeline thermals in Samoa, and the way mine likes to act like a big motorglider, it fits. Sabrina

I'm in the process of painting my T yellow and white. From my experiance with yellow planes and grass runways I plan on calling my T-craft Flypaper. George

A pal of mine just started work on a 69 7eca stripped down to nothing.

After sanding and zinc chroma te...the name was adopted as the grinch......for many reasons after sanding, and the color green of course.

THAT'S why you take your girl friend up in a Taylorcraft. When I lived in Florida, I lived aboard my restored 1950 Chris Craft. I had a friend of mine ask me how many she slept. I told him "four comfortably, eight sensously".

By the way, my wife popped out with about a dozen great "T" names after she saw my response. She is really good at this!

There were a couple on the list , Bonnie and Paul Harrington i believe the name was that used Tpartners as there email . Kind of sweet i thought for a couple . Bonnie informed us in 2001 that Paul was killed in a headon auto crash if memory serves me right. Last i heard from her the name was up for grabs with her blessings as it was too hard for to use because of Pauls Death.

I affectionly refer to mine as "My Sweetie". She really is a sweet airplane to fly and totally put up with me while I was learning how she likes to be flown. As I turn off the lights and get ready to close the hangar door, I always say, "See ya Sweetie! Night Night!"

As most of you know of Crispy Critter. My wife named her(my current wife,lol),but she didn't really mean to. In 1999 I dragged her burnt carcuss out of dad's garage and started going threw her to see what was good and what was not. My wife,who at the time was about 7 and a 1/2 months VERY pregnant stopped by to see how it was going and said " Damn Kevin, it sure is a crispy critter ain't it". The name stuck. When I brought her down out of the garage my real intention was to see if there was any good parts left to use,not intending to restore her. At the time I was looking at a nice t-craft project missing a couple easy to find pieces and all the paperwork,data tag,AWC,and logs were all gone. I was really just planning to use the good logs and paperwork from Crispy on the project I had found. However my uncle was helping me get everything down and go through it and sometime during all this he made a comment that saved Crispy's life....He said "it's a damn good thing all you need is the paperwork because as much as I wish it could be done,there is NO WAY to fix this old bird". My reply was "anything can be fixed with enough determination",he said "anything but this pile of cooked parts". I said, "ya wanna bet". He said ,"sure,I'll give ya $5000 bucks the day I see it fly". That was the asking price of the project I was planning to buy and use Crispy's paperwork on. He has helped work on Crispy almost as much as my father,I asked him the other day if he had that 5 grand ready,he just laughed and said I sure do....but just wait until you get my labor bill for all the work I done on that old girl. Crispy has been in my family for 4 generations. My great grandfather bought her in the 1950's and I sure hope she means as much to my kids,grandkids,great grandkids and so as she has meant to me. Crispy should fly again in the next 2-3 weeks...I hope. May 5,2007 will be exactly 36 years since she was last flown with my father at the controls,I hope he will be the one to test fly her,not because I don't want too but because I know those two have so much history together that is just feels right to let him do it. He grew up learning to fly in that airplane with his father and grandfather and his older brother.His older brother was killed in a plane crash exactly 2 years to the day after Crispy burnt. Dad is the only person still living that ever flew Crispy as a licensed pilot,not the only one in the family but the only person anywhere. I know my father has lots of memories to revisit when he and his old faithful friend once again brake the bonds of earth and get a touch closer to those who shared in the making of the memories he holds so dear and close to him. I love my father. I know Crispy has brought us closer then we have ever been,I just hope it will bring him back a little closer to his dad and brother. That's been my main goal in rebuilding Crispy. Eeverytime I see my father look at Crispy I swear I can almost feel my grandfather there with him.
