GREAT!! Now, Hopefully, we will have a source for new parts, although I will WAIT to see if others get their parts AS PROMISED FIRST. I don't have the money to risk. Brie

Keep us posted on the progress, quality, conformity and proper documentation. YES D-E is owned by Harvey Patrick former owner of Taylorcraft and I have been told he holds the notes on the present company. This has all been discussed on this forumn.

        Hey All,

There's a new story posted at the Brownsville Herald about the relocated Taylorcraft factory:

I received my part from the factory today. I ordered it on the 10th. The part looks very good and the price was excellent. They even enclosed a "Thank you" card!. I won't hesitate to order from them again.

          Thanks Diana!!

I do not mean to be a gripe. If you've seen my posts, I'm not the type. Personally, I'm excited about the Factory selling parts. Are these new parts? Are they selling off
the leftover parts supply left over from previous factory owners? What is the longterm viability for the factory? Does anyone know?

I think these are pertinent questions, and not meant to be impertinent questions. My issue is, if this is a parts supplier to be trusted, we need information about parts quality and longterm factory business plan. For instance, if this is a lost leader dumping of old parts, and I'm not saying that it is for this I do not know... but if it is... the factory could be blocking other more viable alternatives like Spruce, Wag-Aero, and Univair.

Again, I don't mean to be impertinent. I'd just like to know that the factory is investing for and in the future. Not just dumping parts on good and trusting Taylorcraft owners and leaving before anything breaks.

If anyone has a clue -- I'd be grateful for your thoughts and a response. It just seems odd that the factory isn't speaking for themselves and instead is counting on others
without factory responsibility. Right now, I feel like I'm wandering around a big box store and there isn't anybody to talk to... shouldn't there be an organized and responsible sales promotion effort?

              Ed,
The parts I have received are probably NOS but they look like new. Some parts were not available even from someone else who has them! Let's not look a gift horse in the mouth... If you need parts that the factory has, then by all means buy them now. That may just keep Taylorcraft Aviation in business to help us further.

I can't say how "new" the part I received is, but is does have an FAA-PMA tag attached, and a TAC/2 inspector stamp. There is no corrosion on the part.
If they are "just selling off parts" I have no problem with that, as the parts are FAA/PMA'd and appear (from what I've seen) to be of first quality. At least we have some parts available.

There has been a demand for Taylorcraft parts for years, and none of the BIG suppliers have bothered go after the market.......probably because there just wasn't (and still isn't) enough money in it.

This is good news for all,I wish them the best of luck and hope they can keep'em comming.....I don't currently need anything that I can't make or reuse so I'm going to wait and see where it goes for a while before I start recommending friends to go there again. Best wishes and good luck to all and the factory....we do need parts.

It is good to see the factory selling/releasing the old supply(my opinion/guess)
of parts built perhaps some by them and more by those before. In any event as long as the FAA is certifing all this its another extra guard agains "the dumping issue" refered to earlier. I am also in agreement that if I were to purchase any more parts (I purchased a set of drag /anti drag wires INCLUDING THE LONG ONES) a while back from these guys and I see the the preservative coating on the long ones is noticiably different...(who made these? ) I do not know but Forrest caused me concern when he raised the same question to this very purchase after I recieved em. and posted this Soo I suppose its "trust but verify" as Reagan once said.

I invite you to read the Brownsville Herald Article: (excerpt)

"Despite the financial uncertainty that the company faces, Ingram said he brought the company into better times with the money and help of “family and friends.”

For now his customers seem happy. The nonprofit Taylorcraft Foundation run out of Ohio — a completely separate entity from the company — hosts an online forum for Taylorcraft enthusiasts."

Meaning, your (our) reports from this discussion thread on this website are used as credible reports on Taylorcraft company policies.
Meaning your: skepticism, (not cynicism) diligence, and persistance are valubale in determining the Factory's course. SO, now that you all are members of the media...
now that you are consumer reporters, don't shirk your duty -- report everything.

It still troubles me that the factory hasn't spoken for themselves. AND, in their silence there is mystery. Gagey
and mysterious are not good public personas for the reform minded.

Several people have lost money trying to buy from the factory in the past, also some have gotten the service they paid for. I have got some of the things I ordered but I also did't get some of the things I paid for. I am glad to see some positive activity from them and hope it continues. I think now we all need to focus on the service being givin and not so much the past service we didn't receive. In another words we need to post experiences for now and now before. If we keep hounding about the past then the factory will never have a futrue. I know it will be hard for some to keep quiet because some lost so much ,but maybe, just maybe they are making an honest attempt to make it right in the future for those they mistreated and for future costumers....at least they are trying and in a more positive direction. We have all said they needed to start slow by making and selling parts first. I think they have finally figured that out so let's see how it goes and wish them luck.

                          • Re: News from the Factory III

Many of the parts for sale are old production parts with new conformity tags on them. They were making a few parts when I was there last in LaGrange like welded structures. I have found not with just this forum, but people who are the center of attention good or bad tend to stay of the forums because they get bombarded with questions, comments, etc. and usually leads to nothing good because not everyone can be pleased with all answers given. I guarantee they are reading this forum regularly though.

Again, I'm not for raining on this parade. In fact, I recieved an email (Diana at the Factory) shortly after my last post asking f she could be of service. (This is good) I'm intersted in ongoing factory service reports and fact based factory information. Keep up the good work factory and keep up reports on the factory from the tribe.

To go along with what Mike said, they, (Taylorcraft/Diana), are monitoring this forum. Not necessarily a bad thing as I received a PM from Diana. A little slow, but she explained their phones were experiencing difficulty when I tried to call and she did not receive my e-mail. I got a message ten days later my message was not received by Taylorcraft. It was nice of her to contact me off-line. One part price seemed a little out of line, so I will hold off for now. But hey, best of luck to them, and I hope they are successful.
                                Cheers,
