  • Anyone ever heard of a Falcon 93-72-44 Prop?

I was looking at the old paperwork for the C85 upgrade on my L2M and noticed that the prop called out on the 337 at the time was a "falcon 93-72-44". I've never heard of this prop, does anyone know if it is equivilent to a current wood 7244 and is this a cruise or climb prop?

    Thanks,

I think Falcon Propeller used to be in Zellwood, FL. They built wooden props for a lot of antiques but I haven't heard of them for years. I think I heard of them in reference to a Rearwin Speedster prop. Not a Rearwin guy so I don't have much more.

Our own Mike Redpath owns Falcon Propellers which was originally Fahlin Propellers. His Forum monicker is Ragwing Nut. You should be able to get any info you need from him.

My TCraft once had a Fahlin prop on it, but somebody ran it through a fence up on an island in the San Juans (NOT me) and now it has a trusty McCauley 7445. It's a pity, I've heard some great things about those Fahlin/Falcon props.

93 is the year it was manufactured, 72" long, 44" pitch. It is the same parameters as a Sensenich, but different airfoil. Should be an excellent prop for the L-2. I plan to use a 72-44 or 46 for a stoker 85 going on an L-2M we are building here since 72 is the max length on an L-2 I believe. Hope this helps.

          Mike,
I have a sensenich W72CK-44 prop on my BC12-65 that I am considering changing to a 42 pitch if anyone is interested in the prop I have. It works really nice for cruise but if it is hot(which is most of the time in south Texas) and I have a passenger it doesn't climb very well with a 65. Anyway, if anyone is interested let me know.

              Hi Winston,
I havent yet. That would be the prop I would want but I have already promissed it to Jake for the Cub with the engine I am getting from Paul.I was thinking that you might want to trade the one you have with the Cub decals for it but either one is fine for the Cub. Hows the 40 comming along. Paul said it's really looking nice-still want to come by some time again.
