Some where I saw a note to purchase a sink plunger from the hardware store, cut and trim it to fit, the material is compatible with gasoline. Test it before you spend much time fitting the seal.
Chief Aircraft has them, they are white and are listed in an obscure corner of a page. I think they list them as Cessna gas cap gaskets. Two sizes, measure yours as I cannot remember right now which ones they were. Fit all the gas caps perfectly.
What size are they? I have viton gaskets 2 1/4 OD, 1 1/2 ID and 1/8 thick for $3.50 (Ercoupe parts). Also a few neoprene (AvGas only) on closeout for $1.00
I also have a giant grommet that goes around the tank neck on an Ercoupe. It's about $10, IIRC
