Hello everyone. I posted my new membership in the FAQ by mistake. Can someone tell me the locations of all the wood blocks and fairings on the fuselage and attach methods. Also, I think I have all the metal stringers for this project and need to know where and how they attach and if wood blocks go under them. This project came to me in pieces and buckets and boxes. I have the manuals but they are not very explicit. I am starting on the fuselage and want to do it right. Any advise on anything from firewall to tail would be welcome. Thanks

Re: 1946 BC12D Wood Fairings
DAn - here are a couple of suggestions;
1). Several Forum members are from NC. Perhaps they are nearby and you can visit and see; or they can send pics.
2). Go to http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinqu...f_inquiry.asp] and type in manuf/model, then look for NC. There are 47 BC-12D's in NC; probably in boxes or stuffed away. Find the nearest and see how they were constructed
3)Go to here and locate an EAA chapter nearby. Bet they know someone with a Tcraft.

Dan:
I have some pictures & descriptions here on my website. Maybe there's something there that helps. Most of the woodwork is held on by wrapping fabric around it.
If you can post some photos of the pieces you are unsure of, we can identify where they go & how they are held on.

Re: 1946 BC12D Wood Fairings
Dan,
Not sure where Iron Station NC is but I have a naked 45 Taylorcraft and a 41 getting really close to flying again. I can make either one available for you to look at as much as you want if you want to make a trip to Virginia Beach. When the weather gets a little warmer it's a great place to let the wife and kids enjoy the beach while we play with airplanes.
