I used to use red oxide primer on cars....it worked a treat, but then I wasn't having to comply with FAA regs, and I wasn't gluing fabric to them.Mike Horowitz

Hello: Just a historical note...my logbook for my '46 BC12-D contains an entry that it was recovered in 1958 after the fuselage was coated with "red lead". I am removing "green" coating from the fuselage now and finding light surface rust in dependent and aft surfaces. After sandblasting, I will coat it with a "white" 2 part epoxy just to see if rust breaks through! DocDoc TF #680
