Now, I'm no spray gun expert, but I'm something of an expert on cheepo spray guns having bought and trashed 3 POS hardware store spray guns in 6 months. I was about to spring $300 for a "real" spray gun when I saw an ad on eBay for a new DeVilbiss gravity feed HVLP gun for $15.95. The little voice in my head is saying "forget it, a $16 spray gun's gotta be junk", but I figure it can't be any worse than the $50 crap guns I've been buying and throwing away, so I send in my $15.95 plus $6.95 shipping and a week later here it comes.
Today was perfect outdoor painting weather, 68 degrees, no wind. I drag out all my "needs a coat of primer" stuff, landing gear legs, cowl bumps, brake parts, etc. I mix up a batch of white epoxy, dump it into the gravity cup of my new $16 spray gun and go to work. I'm expecting the usual "can't quite get it adjusted right" blues, the skipping, sputtering, spitting frustration of working with a cheep gun. But WHOA! Instead, I dial the gun right into a perfect spray pattern, and I'm getting a silky smooth, effortless, beautiful coat. I get a big grin on my face and I tell myself, "I gotta tell those T-craft guys about this!"
Good gun, cheep. On eBay, search "spray guns" it'll come up first, it's sold by small engine warehouse.
