As I get time flying my plane and getting to know it, there still is a few questions, that I can't find the answers on, when we first start up and start getting the plane warmed up and all the lights and avionics, running the volt meter in my plane always read 10 volts. this concerned me, and I made plans for the new lights, to be led, and try to keep the voltage around 12-14 volts. today when we were flying I had the chance to look a little closer at the guage's, and the volt meter read 16 to 20 at full power, and 16 when cruising, so since the generator is only for the lights and the cockpit, I'm a little worried about burning up the wiring with it being 16 - 20 volt, or is the system able to handle it
or is there a regulator that knocks it down to 14. or should I find one, I know this is a generator, not an altenator there fore the faster it runs the more power it'll produce
