When overhaul last,did you put in steel valves etc.

The engine was overhauled 150 hours before we purchased the aeroplane, so the engine's done 1000 hours or so since complete overhaul. Yes, it was overhauled with stellite valves.

Those will handle the avgas much better than the originals.
