  • OLD plastic on aluminum

Any one know how to get old and brittle plastic off of aluminum. It will not pull off in sheets.

I don't think I understand. What old & brittle plastic off which aluminum? I'm sure I'm missing the obvious.

When you buy aluminum sheets, sometimes it comes with plastic sheeting adhered to it for protection. I was given some very old aluminum sheet that I can’t get that protective plastic off short of sanding it off.

I have used heat to help. You might also try some paint and adhesive remover. Once you get to the point it breaks instead of stretching a little it becomes problematic.

Tried heat no good, same with lacquer thinner. This stuff isn’t the heavy blue stuff, it almost as light as cling rap.
