  • Forrest Barber: Sad Day

Forrest Barber passed away today. I just saw this post. A wealth of Taylorcraft knowledge just left us.

A good friend for over 40 years. I wish I had spent more time with him.

      Not wholly unexpected.

He was quite instrumental to me during the rebuild of my UK-registered Taylorcraft. I flew in to and drove into Barber Field several times in the 2001-2002 time period to wrack his brains. I think he helped me format my rebuild so as to help others.

I just saw my former CFI last week and he informed me of the news. As it turns out he did his tailwheel training with Forrest many moons ago when he was living in OH and remembered him fondly. I never knew Forrest as I got into the T-Craft game just a year or two ago but this is a big loss to the whole community without question.
