Hi Everyone,
New member here with a recently acquired 1941 BC12. Reading through the forum got me interested in finding some ball bearing pulleys, which led me to speak with Doug (fantastic guy). He shared that they are preparing to make a FINAL run of Taylorcraft pulleys, as they currently have zero complete sets in stock.
Doug is trying to decide whether to order 10 sets or 30 sets. Ordering more will save us money in the long run, but prices have gone up, like everything else lately. For reference, ordering in larger volumes could save us $6-7 per pulley. While I can't speak to final pricing, based on older posts saying a set was $400, I'd guess it would be closer to $800 now. Doug is trying to avoid selling a $50 pulley. Once the bulk order is placed, there will likely be a 3-month lead time.
My hope is to gauge interest via the forum, Facebook, and at EAA in Oshkosh and give Doug a solid number before the end of July. If you've been considering this upgrade, now is the time to act! I've been told on more than one account this is one of the best upgrades you can make on your aircraft.
Please comment on this post if you're interested in ordering a set
To summarize: this is the last chance to order the correct ball bearing pulleys for your Taylorcraft from Doug. Expect a 3-month lead time after the bulk order gets placed. We need commitment numbers before the end of July.
Please note: This information is based on my conversation with Doug. Final pricing will depend on the number of orders.
Thanks!
