    Engine baffle material, aka "1ply reinforced insertion rubber sheet"
    1/8 inch thick by 3" inch wide by 9 feet long cost me $30 in 2006, Aircraft Spruce P/No 05-00826. About 10 cents per square inch.

    The same would cost me $100 in 2024, so about 31 cents per square inch.

    I bought the same stuff last week in a 1000mm by 1400mm sheet (say 40" by 55" square) for GBP27 (about USD$33) from eBay.
    I'll allow you to do the $ per square inch comparison, but I make it 1.5 cents per square inch. No wonder Aircraft Sp and their ilk make a fortune.

    More interesting is what these large sheets of cotton-reinforced rubber are used for in the commercial world:

    Yes I have noticed the large increase in price from Air Craft Spruce too.

      I have probably 8 rolls of black left that is tough as nails but still pliant. Old military surplus from surplus store. 20 for 2 rolls.
