Bottom of rudder. NORMAL?

Tribe is this slight bend at the bottom of this rudder normal. ??? It is split near the post anyhow so will be replaced...however should it have the slight bend??.

If anything it should be bent the other way. It has either had the fabric over shrunk, or it has bumped down on something pushing it in.

That's typical of failed tailwheel leafspring bolts, causing the now loose & flailing tailwheel to clatter against the lower rudder tube. Guess how I know.

For about $10 worth of hardware, it's worth replacing the tailwheel nuts & bolts every few years. And the leaf springs every so often.

Typical to rust out internally also. Replace with the next size larger tube from the post to the trailing edge of the lower rib for extra durability.

Yup. Nothing surprises me in this planes and its restoration. More of the same. Neglect!

Yes I understand the repair and have a aircraft fabricator also doing this replacement. .Thanks for your comment .
