Broken record I know, Are there any updated threads on Shinn brake parts in 2023?

I could not get in touch with SkyBound and, from talking to the folks at Classic Aero who sell Luscombe parts, there are some rumors they have passed. I do know they (Classic Aero) have the adjusters / wedges / and lining material. Their website is down right now, however, so you need to call.
I got an entire second set of complete Shinn wheels and was looking at the parts yesterday. It would be fairly easy, I think, to get the cast pieces made (the wishbones, for example) and a machine shop could probably make a run of the adjusters and wedges. I think we would also get a spring place to make the return springs if we could find a good original one to do a pull test on and get the spring coefficient -- just don't tell them its for an airplane! The shoes could be done, but I'd need to figure out how the attachment bracket is made (does not look cast) and it would probably use two vendors. Someone on Facebook was working on a buck for the dust covers, but I can't find any updates.
The real issue is the wheels. It looks to be a cast inner "hub" with a stamped "core" that is then bead rolled over the cast bit. Getting a casting made of the center would not be bad, but the die for that deep of a stamp would be an issue. And you would need a special jig to roll the bead around the cast wheel.
At the end of the day, I think we could get a decent run on all the parts minus wheels for under $100k. I just don't know what to do about the wheels, and that's going to be the limiting factor going forward as these age and crack.

I've been thinking about this some more, but does anybody have a set of grove brakes they can measure? I am pretty sure the Shinn wheels came in a version without brakes. I am wondering if we could somehow retrofit the "brake" portion onto an existing set of grove wheels. I think the disc is press fit into the grove main wheel. Could we make, basically, the round steel portion that the linings go in and then either shrink or expand the diameter to allow this new flange to press into the existing wheels? Width may be an issue here, but then again the wheel has to fit a stock 600x6 tire so.....
At that point we are NOT making a wheel. I'd think, if we engineer this right, we could get somebody like Terry to sign off on this. If we use the stock linings, and the rest of the Shinn brake system, all we are really doing is making a steel ring with an adapter to press fit into the Grove wheel like their discs do. It would not alter the stock wheel, and a failure should not prevent a safe takeoff or landing.
We could even make a faux outer cover that looks like the shin cast part, with the ridges and markings.

I don't recall where I saw it, but someone said they got a set of linings from Sky Bound a couple weeks ago.
Outside of the wishbone, there isn't any of the parts that couldn't be repaired or made if needed. There are plenty of wheels available for those wishing to stay original, and plenty of options for those who would like to upgrade to disk brakes. Don't go over thinking things.
