  • Hub cap screws

Looking for the size screws that hold the hub caps onto the shinn wheels. Thanks George Bassett

I didn't have any here to look at. The wheel half bolts are 1/4-28. If they are not squeezed down that is probably what size they are. If they are squeezed down try a 10-32.

Hub cap screws thread in to the long castellated nuts. The screws are quite short, else they will impinge upon the split pins that secure the wheel halves.
(at least they do on my 1946BC12D)

I know I am odd. I have mentioned here before I actually like the style of the mag wheel as bare..does not hurt seeing that Butler PA stamped on em probably has a bit to do with it also..a stones throw from where I was born and raised and Dad flying us into Butler County Airport in NC43831..now being restored here in SC after having been out of the family for 47 years!

Sentimental old cuss guilty as charged.

I'm with you Jim. I put a lot of time into polishing the hubcaps, removing dents with an english wheel and getting the screws to work. After I put them on I decided i like the look better without them.

Bruce, They truly have style unlike any other aircraft wheel available at any time any where in their look.

Dad and his partner painted mine. They are going to go back to bare polished with a coat of clear
