  • Air Filter fairing.

Where can a guy get a replacement fairing on the lower cowl that goes around the air filter for a BC-65?

    Thanks,

    Jon

A BC-65 wouldn't have had a filter or fairing originally. If you want to add one you could probably get it from Wing's Metal Works, but realize it may not fit your cowling perfectly.

It does have a pressure cowl. I’m presuming from a Bc-12. It has a fiberglass fairing on there badly cracked.

Hello Jon, and welcome to the Taylorcraft group .

When I rebuilt my 1946 BC12-D, I reverted to the original unfiltered airscoop that it was delivered with. Mainly for appearance, but also for increased airflow into the carburettor, and increased structural integrity of the lower (chin) cowl.

        ^^^ Much cleaner lines.

Having said all that, I believe Wenglarz (spelling?) have made reproductions of the fairing you need if you go that route.

You can Google Wings Metal Works, or if you do Facebook you can message Maxwell Wenglarz in the Taylorcraft group.
