  • Control Cables and Cable Fairleads

This has probably all been covered before on Topica, but it probably won't hurt to start this thread on the new list for reference purposes.

Does anyone have the exact dimensions or a plan for the control cables for a Model 19? I am going to make up some new cables and can work from my existing cables, however I note that the rudder cables are slightly different length from each other and so are the elevator cables? Does that sound right?

Also I ordered some cable fairleads from Univair and they don't fit worth a darn. They are the right length but not the right diameter. The fairlead can still be slipped out of the mount even with the snap ring applied. I can probably make them work, but does anyone know of a better source? The factory doesn't have any right now.

    Fairleads

I think I got the same fairleads you did and they were loose. The big problem was the snap rings they furnished were junk.

This is what I ended up using and it worked great.

        Wayne,

Perfect! It has been awhile since I submitted this post and I was beginning to think I was going to come up dry. The fairleads do indeed look exactly the same as the ones I purchased and I was thinking if I could find different clips, I could still use them. Did you get them from any particular supplier?
