Lift Strut Drain Holes?

Was there a factory service bulletin suggesting drain holes in the old non-sealed lift struts? If so, can someone please post a copy showing locations and size?

I don't recall such a thing.

I have been around t-crafts and owned one most of the time since 1968. Had 1939 and 1946's.

I certainly could have missed it.

My post wars did have drain holes but pre-war did not.

There was a bulletin on drain holes in the landing gear cabane strut.

Yes the last two sentences indicate that there are drain holes.

I said in my reponse that my post war planes had drain holes.

I assumed that by using word "suggesting" that you were meaning "suggesting creating" or "suggesting installing".

I don't know what you are asking, if you had that 2007 SB already, what are you asking about? Yes they had drain holes. No I am not aware of any SB instructing to create drain holes.

The existing drain holes most likely were done during manufacturing process.

Yes there was a bulletin. I don't have time to look for it right now. It was a 3/32-1/8" hole on the bottom of the strut.

Must be fun drilling the hole in the trailing edge. I bet I would have drilled a finger at least once!
