Be aware that powder coating can hide corrosion. Some is porous and sometime things corrode crime the inside out.

Making progress on my right gear repair. My neighbor, and arguably the best welder on the field, says he can "repair" the gear leg. I'll make an order to Wag Aero for some of the parts. Can somebody tell me the wall thickness of the main gear leg tubes? How about the smaller upper tubes?. Wag says they carry the streamline tie strut tubing, bearing assembly, half moon and end cap........."Captain Jon" Timlin

The wall thickness may be less than original if there's any internal or external corrosion. I'd confirm the tubing's condition before I did a repair. The diagonal strut is open via the SB drain hole at the bottom and near the common welded bungee cluster at the top. Same for the upper tubes. The main legs may be open at the upper hole on the outer brake torque plate if it's present. Tap and blow air into all orifices to check for loose corrosion.
