Hi; I'm a recent subscriber and own a BC12D-85 #N95169, Forrest and Eric may recall some lines last winter, sorry I dissappeared. I've got the shop cleaned and the wing's are off for cover. I'm looking foward to being part of this great bunch. Hope I fit in.

You will, we are a pretty ecclectic bunch.

Welcome, birdlegs, is yours an original BC12D-85, or a modified BC12D?

If the STC was complied with, then the wings should be OK (at least, I should say the structural re-work done as part of the STC). Always a good idea to check, though!

Welcome Birdlegs.I'm doing a one time STC for my BC12D with a non-electric 0200 on the short mount.

With an O 200 you might have to change your name to "Rocket Man"

              Re: New guy

Welcome aboard. Just to add to your info. data base. I have a very strange Tcart. It is BC12D with an 85, but it is not a BC12D-85. It was done on a 337 years ago and the FAA confirms that it is therefore legal. But the wing attach fittings were not changed so I can only carry 1200 gross. That is to say being heavy with the oversized tires, a 25 size batttery, strobe lights, copper gas lines, 3 tanks, a panel mount radio and enough wiring for a 727, with full gas and all 150 lbs of me, I can carry a pet cat or a small bag, but not both.
Of course on a pleasant day it will give me 850 ft/min. on a cruise prop for the first 1000 feet, so I really can't complain.
With only the front tank full I can carry a 120 lb lady; if she is sweet, or nice, or just about anything short of ... ahh, I digress.
Anyway I have the STC for 1280 gross, also 1500 or whatever the high figure is.
If I ever take the wings apart I will likely change at least the wing fittings.
You probably want to check all that kind of thing while you can get to it.

Darryl in Los Banos; Sounds like you've traded some usefull load capacity for some creature comforts......... thus the term useful load.......
