Several years ago I purchased a 1939 Taylorcraft BL-65, serial # 1308, basket case. It was disassembled for covering 35 years ago. It passed through 3 or 4 others before I purchased it. Surprising, all of the big pieces are there. The lycoming 0-145 was overhauled by Elreno Aviation. Last year I had it disassembed for inspection by a local IA. He replaced gaskets and resembled. It is in excellant condition. Over the last 10 years I have, finished the fuse, covered and painted. I am working with a local IA to insure the airplane retains certificiation. Now that I am retired, the project will have my fill attention.
From time to time I have questions. I can get some answered at my local airport, I hate to wear my welcome thin. I am hoping to make some contacts at this site with t-craft owners of like airplanes. My purpose is to pose question on the reassembly problems. I am currently installing and plumbing the engine.
Is this forum the "place to be" for restoration help? Thanks in advance.
