I'll be there Perry...same place as last year, teaching paint. I think Chuck Avon is going too.

Chuck said he would be there and he is going to help out at the Franklin display and drive one of the water wagons (golf carts) with bottled water for dry aviators.

I plan on heading that way tomorrow in my Bonanza. Should be there til Sunday. My most recent Taylorcraft newsletter said that there's a T-craft forum Thursday at noon. I'll try to make that.

          Re: Sun n Fun forums?

Well, the Taylorcraft owners forum that the newsletter said was gonna be at noon Thursday actually happened at 9 am Thursday, so I missed it. I'll take a little blame for not double checking. I only saw one Taylorcraft in all of vintage parking. That was a bit of a bummer too. Other than that, it was a good trip. I did visit with Chuck Avon briefly.

I've talked on the phone with Chuck several times. There is no way you visited with Chuck, 'briefly'. Lol!!!

Good luck with the newsletter. I have signed up three times in the past three years. To date, I have received one newsletter.

If it is still being published, it is the same people that Steve Krog handed-over the newsletter to. Same folks as the Cub Club newsletter. No one on here has anything to do with it. Do a search, there is more info on it.
                  Cheers,

                    Re: Sun n Fun forums?

We would be better off archiving all the old news letters. Most of them were done by Tribe members and only a few by commercial company. The ones done by us could be shared on the group (a few would require permission from the distributors). I have almost a complete set and would love to get the few missing ones from others while sharing mine. I need to get a working scanner and we could post them here on a thread. Probably best to just post the newsletters on the thread and have a second thread for comments. There WERE errors in the newsletters that were often corrected in later issues.
I have the national clubs and a lot of the Virginia Carolina's Taylorcraft club news letters going back to the 1970s. Some are pretty hard to read and if anyone has better copies we could replace teh weak ones with better ones in the on line file.

Hank, I'm not sure scanning and placing them here would be legal.

                        Re: Sun n Fun forums?

The original newsletters done by Bruce Bixler could possibly be approved by Forrest or the Foundation Board, (if it even still exists). The other entities newsletters would need permission to reproduce.
                        Cheers,

                          Re: Sun n Fun forums?

Already have permission for the Bixler and earlier ones and all of the VA. Carolina's ones. We talked about doing it a long time ago and I got permission. The guy who took it over and also did several other aircraft types never would respond (officially, my understanding was he wanted money to publish his old copies). Any lawyers here who know how long he can hold the copyright? It would take YEARS to post all oft the Bixler and earlier ones anyway. The later publisher might be open to letting us post the later ones now (for a reasonable price) since no one even subscribes any more.

The Taylorcraft Owners Club is different from the foundation. It was my understanding that Bruce sold the Taylorcraft Owners Club and all rights to Steve krog. I think Steve passed it along again to the current people.
