what is average cost of strut ultrasonic inspection and were to go for the inspection in Houston, Tx area and what paper
paper work is required for ultrasonic inspection - way I read the AD inspection required every 48 months

id find an ndt school and see if they would come out to do your as a field trip... has to be several tech schools there that are sick of oilfield work

I thought ultrasound was no longer an acceptable method for compliance. Don't remember where i read that.

That leaves x-ray. Either way by the time you've removed the struts and stripped the paint etc. You'll likely be substantially into the cost of sending them to Wag Aero for sealing. The big advantage of course is that you won't need to do it again as their procedure is a terminating action for the AD.

My error, it was eddy-current inspection that was dropped and Xray added. Ultrasonic inspection is still good.

Does not change my thoughts on the Wag Aero option. I believe they charge under $1200 for all four struts. Couple of hundred should take care of the shipping and you're in for R&I in any event.

Wi I pay $200. He comes to my hanger. No need to take the paint off
