What a great trip. A bunch of Taylorcraft owners go together for a 3200 mile trip through the West and Mark Bowden shot this at Marble Canyon (L41). Nice picture, Mark and it looks like a great time.
Wow 3200 mile trip with three Taylorcafts.
Need more photos of the aeroplane up close of the three.
What is your route? Where did you take off from and I guess you
will end up back home.
Best of luck on your journey of a lifetime.
Hi, I'll have a summary pdf of the trip up hopefully by Wednesday in the trips section, I have to do a few more file compressions to get the size down. Of course we all had hundreds of photos, hopefully this is a collection of our good ones, plus route and plan summary. The file is a copy of a presentation I gave to our VAA Chap 16, K34 meeting after we returned. The trip was completed about a month ago.
It was an awesome trip. There were four on the trip, missing from the photo is Rob's aircraft as he had a mid week diversion. On the trip were Rob, Jim, Mike and myself. And we really appreciated the help/hospitality and seeing some of the fellow forum members along the way.
This was my first trip of this type. They were started when my Dad, Lee became great friends with Jim Zangger after the their restorations in the late '90's. They developed a goal to vislt/land in all 48 continental states and go on "wagon trail trips". Pick a wagon trail and fly it to conclusion and site see, i.e. Oregon Trail.
