  • Shinn axle drawing for B models

Does anyone have or know of a copy of the Taylorcraft factory drawing for the Shinn taper axle stub on the landing gear for B models?

Would it be on the L2 CD?

      Hi Ron,

      Thanks!

It may be. It looks like the part, the dimensions match. But I can't find a reference on it to a "B" model. Appears to say model "D" and "DN" what are they?

It says "make from H50" or possibly "A50" do you happen to have that one too?

Thanks so much. Could you send a copy to [email protected]?

o-57 is the l-2. the axle in an l-2 bolts in so its a little different, but the taper portion is the same

          Hi Mike,

Thanks, is there any document that shows the material they are made from?

            Dave,

L-2 Repair manual says D-56 is made from AN-T-3

I myself have never heard of that spec, but a very quick interweb search found some data from CFR Title 14 dated January 1st 1961 (I attach a photo below of my search result).

The whole "book" appears to be free Here

This document appears to allow 4130, which makes sense. Was AN-T-3 a predecessor to, or later than 4130?

Re: Shinn axle drawing for B models

AN- specs show up in ANC-5 which appears to be the predecessor to MIL-HDBK 5.

I see AN-S in sheet steel specs so I am guessing AN-T is a tube spec.
