  • heath tailwheel springs

I'm trying to find replacement tension springs for my tailwheel.
We have an original heath steerable tailwheel from what I'm told. It works good but my problem is trying to find the correct tension springs for it. The ones we have are to short and strong I'm afraid. Its just a simple setup with just the springs from the tailwheel to the rudder arm. No clips or chains to complicate things.
Where can I find the correct ones?
    Thanks for your help

They look like standard tension springs to me, available from the usual outlets.
Search in Aircraft Spruce or other outlets.

I'm probably not searching correctly but all I seem to find are the short springs with chains and clips.
The springs we have are very tight and I'm afraid not the correct ones. we recently had to put a new scott 1303 steering arm on which made it worse. The new arm is just a touch wider then what was on it.

I would check your local farm supply store spring selection. That is what I had to do 25 years ago when I restored my BL-65.
